Pixl Envy / People

Mac Hoover. Head of Video Production.

Film that earns attention, makes the stakes felt, and gives the audience somewhere to go.

01

Role

Production leadership that stays inside the conditions.

Mac Hoover is Head of Video Production at Pixl Envy and a director, editor, producer, and entrepreneur based in South Florida. He leads television, streaming, documentary, commercial, live-broadcast, marine, aerial, underwater, and remote production.

Mac and James “Marko” Markovits are equal partners and the two-person production team behind Goliath Media. That partnership brings cinematic filmmaking, documentary judgment, and commercial discipline into work built for national distribution.

His work is built for the places where the frame cannot be separated from weather, access, safety, behavior, machinery, and time. The production has to survive reality without sterilizing it.

02

Origin

The camera came first. The production system followed.

Mac began filming fishing across Southwest Florida while he was still in school, moving from fast edits made with friends toward documentary work about conservation and red tide near Port Charlotte. The subject changed the standard: a useful film had to preserve the place, the people, and the consequence—not only the catch.

Work alongside angler Scott Martin expanded that field discipline into nationally distributed outdoor television. The early lesson remains visible in the work now: preparation matters, but the crew still has to recognize the unscripted moment when it arrives.

Selected production

The proof lives in complete records, not a borrowed highlight reel.

The Pixl Envy records below separate Mac’s production role, the client or submitting organization, the recognition, and the evidence each public source can support. His independent portfolio carries the broader television, streaming, commercial, and digital record.

04

Experience

Television, commercial production, and stories that happen beyond the easy road.

Mac’s production history includes more than seven seasons of Goliath Fishing, along with Wave Warfare, Offshore Velocity, the new generation of Spanish Fly, Scott Martin Challenge, Kicking Their Bass TV, The Future Fishing Tournament, Wet Sounds, Pathfinder Boats, Huk, Okuma Fishing, and documentary work with Hood Fishing Entertainment.

The work spans episodic television, documentaries, commercial campaigns, live tournament coverage, conservation stories, underwater production, and expeditions across remote water and land. Distribution references document where projects have appeared; they do not imply endorsement by those networks or platforms.

Recognition

Awards are useful when the credit remains precise.

Goliath Fishing’s Hurricane Ian episode received a 2023 Emmy nomination for Best in Outdoors, naming Mac Hoover and James “Marko” Markovits as the Goliath Media production team.

In 2026, Offshore Velocity’s Texas Heat received a Silver Telly Award, while Goliath Fishing’s The Final Cast and Fishing with the Freak each received Bronze Telly Awards. The official Telly records credit Mac as producer on all three productions.

Mac also served as Production Director for Pathfinder Boats @ FLIBS, recognized with a 2025 Marine Marketers of America Neptune Award, and as Video Director within Wet Sounds’ WS-L launch campaign, which received two 2026 AMA Houston Crystal Awards for Marketing Excellence.

Editorial accountability

Future field notes will name the person who was there.

Mac will write about production judgment, field conditions, documentary ethics, crew decisions, marine storytelling, and the difference between a beautiful shot and useful communication.

His articles will use the same author identity, credit discipline, source standard, and revision record applied across the Pixl Envy Journal.
